Festive Season
Christmas provided us with the perfect opportunity to escape from the house renovations as we all took a quick break down in Sydney.
Our four day trip began with a 6am flight which meant catching a taxi at 5am and waking up at the ungodly hour of 4!Thankfully the rest of our Sydney sojourn was spent at a leisurely pace, spending time with both sides of the family, as well as a trip into the city with the kids visiting the Xmas tree at Martin Place, the QVB and St Marys Cathedral. Despite the dreary wet weather Sydney looked as beautiful as ever, making me feel remiss that we couldn't have stayed longer.

New Years Eve was understandably a low key affair here but to celebrate the occasion I went all out and splurged on $73 worth of seafood - black mussels, local prawns, Stradbroke Island oysters au naturel, tuna sashimi (but no mud crab unfortunately, because despite being egged on by T, the thought of travelling home with a huge live crustacean next to me made me feel a bit queasy, and oh of course, what would I have to do with it at home?!) - which we all feasted on.
