Super September School Holidays

We are fast approaching the home strait of our sojourn here in Queensland and we are ticking off items on our "to do list".

Heading our agenda was Noosa - yes, we just looove Noosa. It would have to be our family favourite - no matter how often we come here, we never tire of the beautiful sparkling beach and the conveniance of the great restaurants lining the beach's edge. As usual, we didn't miss the opportunity to tuck into the sensational food at Seasons Restaurant which always has us coming back for more.
We stayed at The Sheraton and this time took the opportunity to hang out with some friends who also came up with us. There was plenty of time for cocktails (oops, I mean mocktails), relaxing in the spa (what level 5 water restrictions?) and strolling around the shops.
Noosa holds many fond memories for us (I'm getting nostalgic already!) and we'll be looking for every excuse to come back in the future even after our move down south.
Ciao bella!!
The second week of the school holidays was a time for total indulgence as we spent a weekend enjoying the decadent opulence and extravagance of the Baroque inspired Palazzo Versace at the Gold Coast.

Now this has been on our "to do" list ever since we arrived on Brisbane's shores four years ago. No "Queensland to do" list would be complete without a stay at the Palazzo.

Mannequins in Versace gowns graced the lobby. Italian opera played throughout the hotel 24/7. Hotel corridors were filled with photos of models wearing Versace. Very glam and totally over-the-top but hey, I think I could get used to it...
The Palazzo is home to the swanky Vanitas, one of Brisbane's top restaurants. Alas we didn't get to try it out (with A and little Madam - I don't think so) however T and I think that Il Barocco's seafood buffet is also not to missed. We totally stuffed ourselves silly that night and we're still fantasising about the dozens of oysters and Moreton bay bugs we guzzled down. The following night we had teppanyaki at the Marriott's Benihana Restaurant with a friend of T's. We did enjoy ourselves but the chief was pretty clumsy and mucked up virtually all of his tricks.
Ahhh...another weekend of pure luxury and a lovely way to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary (thanks for the additional little treat, T). Yes, The Palazzo certainly gets the thumbs up and I'll definitely be going back ...

You are finally back on the blogsphere! What happened to the last 6 months??! We missed reading about your adventures in sunny QLD. Anyway, your holiday sounds divine - if only you could share some of that glorious warm weather with us down in gloomy Victoria.
I didn't think anyone cared about what we got up to - haha. No, I just had problems downloading pics into the blog and what's a blog without pics?? Anyway, the problem seems to have sorted itself out. I'll soon have a post out about our farmstay way back in April, so stay tuned!
