3 days to go

With the written exam drawing nigh, I can't help but reflect on the past 12 months which have been pretty tough for both of us. Poor T, having been through it myself, I can fully appreciate the immense task of having to study for a major exam whilst working fulltime (not to mention the added burden of on-call with those delightful middle-of-the-night calls/trips to hospital and weekend rounds etc.) but to do this with kids (multiply the degree of difficulty by, say, a factor of 10!!) and (oh yes how could I forget) supervising home renovations (and dealing with a bunch of lying lazy buggers) - I don't know how he did/does it. I must commend T on retaining his sanity!
Similarly, the last year has not been a walk in the park for me. With T completely tied up with work and study commitments, all household/child-rearing duties fell on me - from weekly groceries (try pushing a trolley, intermittently lifting a 14kg and often uncooperative toddler, loading/unloading heavy shopping bags - all while 9 months pregnant! Just pitiful. Many times I've had to rely on the kindness of total strangers to help me. I swear that the staff at Coles think I'm a single mum!) to mopping all the floors and cleaning off tile grout (again 8 months pregnant) to reading/writing stuff for T right up untill the afternoon I was due to have V. Understandably, all this has left me constantly fantasizing about life post-exam... I look forward to getting my husband back...perhaps being able to have a leisurely shower while T minds the kids without feeling guilty ... and I also definitely look forward to getting back to my own career which has temporarily been put on the backburner. OK, enough of this self-absorbed boring s***!!

Anyway, on the premise that T is successful, I suggested today that we really reward ourselves and go away that weekend after T's viva in June. Naturally this idea was met with instant approval. T is very keen on The Palazzo Versace but 2 grand for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom suite? Outrageous. Furthermore, considering that we can't afford it and wouldn't be able to fully enjoy the facilities because of the kids anyway, I think The Palazzo can wait. I have been given the pleasant task of booking a suitable place and will keep all the details hush hush so as not to distract T.

No pics yet again - T is still in nothing but his boxers (outrageous! It's the end of April for heaven's sake!). If you could only see him sitting out there on the deck in full view of the neighbours (thankfully, he doesn't wear regular undies) - I told him that this was akin to me sitting out there studying in my bra and knickers!
